The woman in this painting is Ivanna, a Ukrainian war refugee. Portrayed with her two sons, she reflects strength and hope for new generations amidst a world of chaos and pain. She came to Australia from Ivano-Frankivs'k, one of the first cities to be attacked by Russian missiles. I greatly admire her for having the courage and resilience to flee her country. It was an honor to paint  Ivanna and her family.
